Margaret Williams Walker is a distinguished legal professional with a rich and varied career spanning several decades. A graduate of the University of Rochester and the University of Michigan Law School, she embarked on her legal journey as an associate at Nixon Peabody (formerly Nixon Hargrave, Devans & Doyle) in Rochester, New York.
Driven by her passion for the law and desire to make a meaningful impact, Mrs. Walker transitioned to Xerox Corporation, where she dedicated over twenty-five years of her professional life. During her tenure at Xerox, she demonstrated exceptional legal acumen and played a pivotal role in defending the world-famous XEROX trademark as its Chief Trademark Counsel.
Currently serving as the Executive Vice President of Legal Affairs and Corporate Communications at HMTX Industries, LLC, Mrs. Walker continues to excel in her field, bringing her wealth of experience and expertise to the table. In this capacity, she navigates complex legal matters with finesse while overseeing strategic communication initiatives crucial to the company’s success.
Mrs. Walker’s dedication to advancing diversity and inclusion within the legal profession is evident through her role as one of the founding members of the Rochester Black Bar Association in Rochester, New York. Through her leadership and advocacy, she champions equity and representation, leaving an indelible mark on the legal landscape.
Beyond her illustrious career, Mrs. Walker is deeply committed to her family, community, and faith. As an associate minister at Saint James Missionary Baptist Church in New Britain, Connecticut, she actively contributes to the spiritual well-being of congregants alongside her husband, the Reverend Dr. John W. Walker, who serves as the church’s esteemed pastor. Together, they are blessed to raise three beautiful daughters.
